Travelling in Gus the Bus has been an interesting and polarising experience, especially here in the UK.
We are currently splitting our time between Peacehaven on the South Coast and Richmond, because unfortunately my Dad has been in hospital with pneumonia and we need to spend time with him at this time.
We brought Gus the Bus with us this time and parked it outside my Dad’s house, not blocking anyone.
Yesterday morning we went out to find someone had thrown an egg at the side of the bus.
Obviously a deliberate act, as no-one spontaneously carries an egg in their pocket!
Now, I know for a fact, no-one thinks of themselves as a bad person.
I know whoever threw the egg feels justified in doing so, because on some level they have made us the bad guys and themselves the victim.
It is not necessarily a pleasant experience, but there will be times in all our lives when we come across people who do not like us.
As we know, like attracts like, so usually they don’t like us because we do not share similar characteristics.
Rather than taking it personally, it’s important to understand why.
Each of us has our own way of seeing the world, built from our experiences over time.
They see in us something that is merely a projection of their understanding of their world.
We have no control over the interpretations of others though..
I’m pretty sure the neighbour who threw the egg doesn’t like our bus because they feel it doesn’t belong in their street or their world.
Probably they are right!
Not right to throw the egg, but right because it’s true we don’t belong in their energy.
So when you encounter the disapproval or dislike of others, how do you respond?
Do you take it personally, get angry and meet them in their energy?
If we can all resist the temptation to feel negativity about the disapproval of others, and instead, simply remove ourselves both from the relationship and the need to try and change them.
We will ultimately discover that we attract like-minded individuals into our lives — people who like and appreciate us, because they understand and appreciate the truth of who we are.
It’s all a dance. Stepping towards things and stepping away from things.
When we choose to co-create our lives with the universe and its energy of pure potential, we empower ourselves to shine with our own unique light, and that builds a world around us that will reflect that back at us.
Everything else is irrelevant, including people who decide to throw eggs.
