What’s The First Thing To Go?

When nothing seems clear a reading can help

If you’re anything like me, you’ll always have a ‘to-do list’ on the go.

Life is a constant job producing machine, and it can be hard to keep up.

Adding some form of spiritual routine into the mix can feel like a big ask when we already have a list to work through (and a sub-list of guilty omissions to get round to).

Taking time to pay attention to our spiritual needs doesn’t appear at first glance, to help us get the bills paid or attend to the other 101 tasks that need our attention.

I mean who has time to meditate or journal our feelings when life is yelling at us to just get on with it?

The truth is, though, looking after ourselves spiritually helps us maintain energy, keeping us grounded to make sure we stay on track.

It’s the equivalent of ‘sharpening the saw’.

How you do it is, of course, a personal choice.

For some people, meditating once a day helps them stay centered.

Closing your eyes and sitting still for 10–20 minutes with your brain

focusing on doing nothing seems like a weird way to get productive, eh?

Practicing this, though, actually helps you to stay calm and focused, less reactive to stresses and distractions.

As a result, you become more creative and productive.

Writing in your journal every day in the morning or evening, lets you stay in touch with yourself so that you have an outlet for your feelings.

This often helps us stay grounded with less unresolved mental chatter nagging away in the background.

Repeating affirmations for success, happiness, and well-being on a regular basis can help you live with optimism and enthusiasm, and create what you want in life.

You can also consider learning the language of Tarot.

Tarot gives us a way of seeing below the surface, it’s so much more than just doing readings (although that’s great too).

Tarot gives us a map, a interactive blueprint for us to use as a feedback system.

Used in the right way, it really is brilliantly empowering.

Nurturing yourself in this way makes life better.

Whatever way is right for you, when you make some kind of spiritual practice part of your life.

Little by little, every day, it makes a difference, getting sharper, happier, calmer and more focused.

It helps you to not only stay on track in your life, but also helps your life to stay on track with what your spirit wants.

As we make our way through the mountains of Andelucia, I go into the dark to see the ancient cave paintings of Cueve de la Pileta.
